What Elly said! And here’s the cyclemeter map. I’m quite pleased that before this recycling trip I cycled to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and back (about five miles each way) and felt reasonably capable on the slope up to Little France. (‘Reasonably capable’ here means staying out of granny gear!)

I’ve just learnt that my colonoscopy will take place next Monday, 11 July. The private GI specialist will ‘arrange the colonic transit study with the radiologist’. I assume, but don’t know, that I will have to ensure I’m completely empty in time for the colonoscopy. (I’ve asked for details.) Continue reading

Yesterday’s vigil for Orlando was the furthest I’ve gone from home (cyclemeter map) in weeks, apart from medical appointments. I’m very glad I went, not least because I met by chance with a former colleague from my publishing career.
I couldn’t hear most of the speakers but the First Minister’s message came through loud and clear:
We stand here in defiance of hate with a very clear message – love is love.
