Firstly, I’m much better than I have been. I’m by no means out of the woods but there is very strong light at the end of the kennel. (Thank you Nick Harper!) I’m to be treated as if I have small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), along with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). (I wish I’d recorded the conversation with the GI specialist – then I might recall the link between these two conditions.) Continue reading
What Elly said! And here’s the cyclemeter map. I’m quite pleased that before this recycling trip I cycled to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and back (about five miles each way) and felt reasonably capable on the slope up to Little France. (‘Reasonably capable’ here means staying out of granny gear!)

A modicum of grossness and an amount of whining follows…
It’s taken quite a while to write this post – while my desk chair is more comfortable than the sofa, it’s not comfortable to be at for more than an hour or so.
After Friday’s 16-mile cycle, yesterday was horrible. Random pains in guts and legs, then very poor sleep (from midnight to 2:30, then 6am to 10am in patches) last night. The pains are never severe but they come as sudden, annoying surprises. I’m currently off the antidepressant in preparation for yet another test, so I’m not much fun just now. Continue reading
