Reise nach Wien: day 5 (3 March)

In bullet-points in the hope that it’s less tedious than my prose.

  • Some Glen Shuraig work and then another online meeting
  • U4 to Landstrasse U-Bahnhof
  • walk along the Wienfluss to the Radetzkybrücke, seeing that there is some (but not much – water) in the channel, admiring the signs about the renovations to the U-Bahn tunnels, and filming an U-Bahn train going across the bridge. Seeing this river with some water was one of the main points of this trip.
  • Lunch at Fat Monk
  • Traditional visit to DM
  • Semi-traditonal visit to MediaMarkt, mostly to try to buy a cheap graphics tablet because I either left my stylus at home or lost it en route. The one I wanted was out of stock, but one will arrive at the store tomorrow or the day after, and has been reserved for me. The assistant was surprised that I didn’t start saying my address with the postcode, and that my number begins +44 – I don’t have an Austrian SIM. I also bought a replacement USB-C to USB-C cable, but my external monitor is displaying the same intermittency, so I think it’s on its way out.
    • Untraditional visit to InterSpar for vegan bean soup ingredients and dishwasher tablets
  • U4 back to Rossauer Lände, as cyclemetered
  • Checked electronica purchases worked
  • Cooked bean soup. (The hob has a timer which only lasts 20 minutes. My recipe takes about 2 hours to cook, so there was regular swearing. The soup was OK, though.)
  • Ate soup while watching Lucifer.
  • Blog and bed!
