Elly had to work all day. Meanwhile I set out on the first part of my pilgrimage to photograph every Bezirk (district council) office in Vienna. There are 23 such councils but several of them share offices.
Cyclemeter map of part 1 isn’t complete because 3 batteries ran out.
- U4 to Schottenring, then walk via Eßlinggasse and Börseplatz to 1., Wipplingerstraße 8, office of Bezirke 1 (Innere Stadt)
- walk to nearby Cafe Aida – no carrot-cake!
- Walk to Herrengasse U-Bahnhof, join Information Science research group meeting. I think this is what drained my phone’s internal battery and the normally reliable external one.
- bus to Opernring (the nearest phone-store I could find), buy supposedly full battery.
- U2 to Taborstrasse
- Bus to 20., Brigittaplatz 10, office for Bezirk 2 (Leopoldstadt) and Bezirk 20 (Brigittenau)
- see that the supposedly full battery is also on its way out, so instead of heading for Bezirk 3, walk via Wallensteinstrasse and Friedensbrücke back to Rossauer Lände

After a stop at the flat to chat with Elly, recharge myself and recharge batteries (I was now carrying 3 externals), I set off on part 2 for today.
- U4 to Landstrasse
- walk to 3., Karl-Borromäus-Platz 3, office for Bezirk 3 (Landstraße)
- bus 4A to Karlsplatz
- walk to the wrong bit of Rechte Wienzeile
- bus and walk to the right bit, i.e. 5., Rechte Wienzeile 105, office for Bezirk 4 (Wieden) and Bezirk 5 (Margareten)
- walk to Pilgramgasse U-Bahnhof, the U4 home
- cook bean soup, eat it then blog
